Maryland Mamma's Rambles & Reviews: KidKraft Baking and Toaster Set!

Growing up, one of mine and my sister’s favorite imaginative play scenarios was “cooking” in our “kitchen”. We make believed baking cookies, making spaghetti, cooking eggs, and much more. When I saw the Expresso Baking Set and the Expresso Toaster Set from KidKraft, I was immediately taken back to my childhood of such fun culinary play!

KidKraft generously sent me each set to test out and review. Both sets are made from high quality composite wooden materials. The wooden look gives the toys a nostalgic and classic feel to them! Your young budding chef will love toasting and buttering the bread or mixing and baking cookies.

The Expresso Toaster set includes a pop-up toaster, a stick of butter, two slices of pretend bread, a butter plate, and a butter knife. The Expresso Baking set includes a mixer, mixing bowl, rolling pin, cooking pan, two pretend chocolate chip cookies, and measuring spoon. I absolutely love that assembly is not required for either set! Don’t forget that both sets go perfect with the Uptown Expresso Kitchen.

Since my son is a little young for these toys, we took them over to my friend’s house to let her daughter test them out. They were a hit! While her mom watched the little man, her daughter and I got down to some baking and toasting! She enjoyed making the toast pop up and down with the Toaster set.

The butter stick is several pieces held together by velcro so they can be pulled apart to make smaller slices of butter. While she thought the butter was a little too hard to “cut” with the butter knife , she certainly had fun putting the pieces back together into one big butter stick. She liked that the mixer lifts in and out of the mixing bowl, but wished there was a way to make mixer spin. Overall she loved the toys very much and had a lot of fun with them.

These products sat out on my dining room table while I was writing reviews. Friends, family, and holiday guests were in and out of my home constantly these past two weeks. Very often someone would comment on these toys. I heard everything from “beautiful” to “classic” to “Oh my daughter would love those!”. Every comment was a positive one!

Don’t forget to connect with KidKraft on Facebook and Twitter! Check out their blog to keep up to date with the latest news and happenings.

Buy It: Both the Baking Set and Toaster Set are currently listed on Amazon for $23.00 each. You can also find a local retailer near you.

I received complimentary product(s) to facilitate this review from the sponsoring company. This is 100% my own honest opinion. No one has influenced me otherwise and I was in no way compensated financially. This review is solely based on my own experience with this product.

Mommy Katie Reviews KidKraft's New Espresso Baking Set

I love the holidays and I love finding new products to give the kids over this time of the year. Aside from the holidays kids also have birthdays, so whether you are shopping for those last minute gifts this season or when you are shopping for birthday presents then check out the great products for kids over at KidKraft.

I love KidKraft and this holiday season I was sent the new Espresso Baking Set from KidKraft to review. This is great for those little bakers out there and the little kitchen helpers as well! My kids love to help in the kitchen and they also love to pretend that they are baking and creating meals with their toys. This set is perfect for those pretend kitchen times that my kids have.

They can use the mixer and make all kinds of great creations just like mommy makes with her big mixer. They can also measure then roll out dough for pretend pizza and cookies. Then once they are done mixing and rolling the dough they can put it on the baking sheet then into the oven.

Once they are done with their pretend baking they can feed the completed fake cookies to their doll friends!! If your kids love the kitchen as much as mine do, then they will definitely love the KidKraft Espresso Baking Set. Also to complete the Espresso set they can get the Espresso Toaster Set and even the Uptown Espresso Kitchen!!!

This was not a paid post and honest/original opinions were used and they are my own. Thank you to the company and/or pr agency who supplied the product for review.

Nicole Kidman Opens Boutique on Rue La La. Will offer KidKraft Products!

by JENNY SCHAFER

Following the success of Courteney Cox’s boutique to benefit the EBMRF, mom-of-four Nicole Kidman is opening her own store which will include products from Max Daniel, Kidkraft and Vintage Hermes. All of the proceeds will go toward the Stanford Women’s Cancer Center, a cause that is close to her heart.

I am thrilled to partner with Rue La La to support Stanford Women’s Cancer Center, which provides a real place of hope for women,” Nicole tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. “In my ‘Doing A Little Good’ boutique I have chosen items to encourage moms to shop for a cause this holiday season and help this amazing program which is so close to my heart.”

Nicole added: "My mother had breast cancer when I was 17, so I was personally affected by the disease. I saw a woman suffering, a woman who I loved, who was the heartbeat of our family, going through such distress. This is where I’m putting my efforts right now – keeping our mothers, sisters, and daughters healthy."

Nicole and ex-husband Tom Cruise are parents to daughter Bella, 19, and son Connor, nearly 17, while she and husband Keith Urban are parents to daughters Sunday, 3, and Faith, 11 months. The Academy Award-winning actress says she loves motherhood.

I love nurturing and caring for children," Nicole said.

"I obviously love my own children, but I feel an enormous connection to children in general. I’ve always been very drawn to them. I think being an actor gives you a very childlike quality. We still get to play a lot, so my sense of play, my spirit of play, is heightened. I think children keep that alive in you."

When asked if she sees her fashion sense in her daughters, Nicole replied,
I try not to see myself in my daughters," she said. "I try to see them as who they are. My 3 1/2-year-old just happens to be absolutely obsessed and delighted with clothes, shoes, and jewelry – anything that sparkles. And my other two daughters, they aren’t interested in any part of it. It’s fascinating watching them evolve.

And as for the upcoming holiday celebrations in the Kidman-Urban household, Nicole said, "We decorate, we snuggle, we go to church, we see friends and family. And we try to remember that Christmas is not all about 'the presents.' It’s a time to reflect."

The Nicole Kidman 'Doing A Little Good' boutique opens on December 15th at 8:00 p.m. EST. The boutique will benefit reproductive cancer research at Stanford Women’s Cancer Center under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Berek, a world-renowned expert in ovarian cancer.

The Center, which is dedicated to bringing hope and healing to women with breast and gynecologic cancers, delivers integrated, comprehensive, personalized care to patients and their families. Its advanced research is illuminating new possibilities in early detection and prevention, genetics, cancer vaccines, immunotherapy, and cancer stem cells.

Savingandmore.com Reviews KidKraft's Room Decor Letters

I absolutely love KidKraft Room Decor Products! I was able to Review the Names for my Children.  Matteo was so excited to see his Name on his wall!

If your looking for an interesting and unique way to spruce up your child’s home you can’t go wrong with KidKraft.

All of the Room Decor Letters are very durable and easy to hang on the walls.
There are so many different designs to choose from.

I personally chose the White Letters to match the rest of my Furniture.  They have a lot of patterns and designs which you can find on their website KidKraft.com

Each of the letters come in lowercase font and the following things are what I liked about them:
  • Made of Wood  - This showed me that Kid Kraft is dedicated to a quality product.
  • 6 Inches High - easy to see and read for the kids.
  • Looks great hanging on any wall – which is a great way to spruce up your child’s room.
  • Makes a great gift - what kid wouldn’t want to have their name or a message on their wall.
  • Available in other patterns - a design to fit anyone’s quirky personality.
