Winter doesn’t have to mean cold afternoons bundled up indoors. When the weather’s nice enough to get outside with your kids, take full advantage with these fun activities that are sure to keep cabin fever at bay.
DRAW PICTURES IN THE SNOW
Freshly
fallen snow makes the perfect canvas for your next art project. Add food
coloring to a water bottle and “paint” away.
BLOW
BUBBLES
Everyone
loves bubbles in the summer, but bubble blowing takes on a whole new (and fun!)
dimension on freezing days. Kids will enjoy watching them turn into ice
bubbles—plus, they look amazing!
PLAY
WINTER “HORSESHOES”
Bury a
wide-mouthed water bottle, can, or bowl in the snow so that the mouth is flush
with the snow’s surface then gather small stones to toss into it from a few
yards back.
FREEZE
WATER BALLOONS
Fill
water balloons with colored water, let them freeze, then peel the balloons off
and use them for outdoor bowling!
MAKE
S’MORES
Turn
snack time into an adventure—build a fire in your
backyard’s fire pit and just add s’mores ingredients and
hot chocolate.
BUILD
A SNOWMAN
For a
fun photo op, leave the heads off your creations—at least until your kids can
stand behind them while you take their pictures! Besides the fun, making a snowman is
also awesome exercise. Moving all that snow around takes a lot of work, but we
won’t tell if you don’t!
BACKYARD
FUN
KidKraft
playsets let kids explore a new
world without leaving the backyard. Our Outdoor
Playhouse and Modern
Outdoor Playhouse come complete with doors and windows that open and
close and even have mailboxes with flags. They’re made of weather-resistant
wood and are large enough that multiple
children can play at once, taking winter to a whole new level.
WHO
NEEDS A BEACH?
Pull
back the protective mesh cover and let kids dig in! With our sandboxes,
kids get to build sand castles in their own backyard. Reinforced wooden panels
prevent warping and weathering, and the Pirate
Sandboat is even shaped like
a boat!
